PHM-SA Condemns The Murder of Children In The Eastern Cape.

The People’s Health Movement South Africa is devastated by on-going murders and abuse of children in the Eastern Cape, especially in the Port St Johns area.

In 2014 People’s Health Movement SA marched to Port St Johns Police Station, highlighting murder and abuse of women and children, in Port St Johns and surrounding villages.

The People’s Health Movement SA strongly condemns the recent gruesome murder of Kamvelihle Ngala in the village of KwaNtsila in Port St Johns.

As the People’s Health Movement South Africa;
We declare an end to the rape, murder and abuse of our children in Port St Johns.

We call upon members of the community of Port St Johns to unite, stand up and speak out against the violation of the rights of our children. We also call for extra vigilance by parents and trustworthy adults, whose role is to protect young children. Enough is Enough, Sokwanele; Informed and united, we can protect our children from violence!

We also call on relevant government departments to work with parents and child minders, to support their role in protecting the Rights to Life and Health of All Children.

Kamvelihle was murdered by an ex-prisoner who had served seven years for murder. We call for a harsher sentencing and professional psychiatric assessment of perpetrators, before they are released back into society

Issued by the People’s Health Movement South Africa- Eastern Cape.
